  1. I enjoyed "Student Misconceptions about Space" by Geno Gant. He covered a lot of information that was very interesting. I thought seasons were partially attributed to the "oblong" path of planets around the sun. I now know the truth!
    Space is not a 3rd grade standard, but at the end of the year, my class did a replication of "day" and "night" with a ball on a stick "axis" and a flashlight. Students took turns shining the light on "earth" while others took turns "rotating earth" holding the top and bottom of the stick spearing the ball. We labeled USA and Greece "Social Studies standard" so we could experience how it can be "day" here and "night" somewhere else. It was too dark in the room to see what was going on in the video of this.
